Kathleen Lansford

November 1, 2010 Mrs. Kathleen Smith Lansford, age 97, of Calhoun, died Monday Nov. 1, 2010 following several months of declining health. She was born in Jeffersonville, Ga. on April 29, 1913 daughter of the late David Thomas Smith and Elvenia Carswell. She had lived in Calhoun since 1966 coming here from Miami, Florida. She was a member of the Calhoun Seventh Day Adventist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Bunyan Lansford, two daughters; Judy Bishop and Mary Jo Lansford, two brothers; Lucien and Woodfin Smith,and a young sister Florine Smith. Survivors include two daughters; Joyce Crawford of Calhoun, and Thelma Caldwell of Nashville, Tennessee. Nine grandchildren; Dr. Carole Bishop of Chattanooga, Dr. John Bishop of Colorado, James Bishop of Acworth, Cynthia Blackwell of South Carolina, Cathy Holbert of Calhoun, Bruce Caldwell of Chicago, Robert Caldwell of Florida, Brenda Sheldon of Nashville, Tennessee, and Bryan Caldwell of Orlando, Florida. Eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survives. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday November 3rd at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Charge of the Services. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers include; Dr. Joe Bishop, Wade Holbert, Bruce Caldwell, James Bishop, Travis Sheldon, and Bryan Caldwell. They are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 Wednesday November 2nd. The family will receive friends Tuesday November 2nd from 5:30 until 7:30 at the funeral home.
