June "JuneBug" Dugger

June "JuneBug" Dugger, age 73 of Rome and formerly of Gordon County died Saturday June 25th in Redmond Regional Medical Center of Rome. June was born August 8, 1937 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Herbert G. Long and Willie Mae Ingle Long. She was a member of the Farmville United Methodist Church and had recently been attending the Mount Berry United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer and bowler. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Norman and Wayne Long and a sister, Mary Jane Long. June is survived by her husband, Ed Dugger to whom she was married for 55 years; two sons, Wayne Dugger and his wife Linda of Cave Springs and Mike Dugger and his wife Connie of Dallas. One daughter, Kristy Dugger of Rome. Two brothers, Curtis Long and his wife Mary of Austell and Johnny Long of Sugar Valley. Four sisters, Margaret Dean and her husband Lamar of Calhoun, Paulette Bagley and her husband Ronnie of Gainesville, Margo Johnson and her husband Ron and Maxine McKinney and her husband Ron all of St. Louis, Missouri. Three Grandchildren; Jessica, Chelsey and Taylor Dugger also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday June 28th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Marc Dwiggins officiating. Stormy Chaffin will have charge of the music. Burial will follow in the Sugar Valley Cemetery with nephews to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9pm.
