Julia Nelson

Monday, July 23, 2007 Mrs. Julia Whittemore Nelson, age 94 of Calhoun died at 12:20 PM, Sunday, July 22, 2007 in the Starcrest Nursing Home of Cartersville. Julia was born in Gordon County, February 28, 1913, daughter of the late Ben F. Whittemore and Kate Foster Whittemore. She was preceded in death by her husband J.D. “Jet” Nelson, one sister, Ann Whittemore Wallace and three brothers, Floyd, Ray and Mark Whittemore. Julia is survived by two sons, Richard Jordon and his wife Nancy, Steve Nelson and his wife Diane; 6 grandchildren, Nakia Nelson, Leisa McEntyre, Joseph Jordon, Juliana Brummitt, David Jordon, and Eric Jordon; 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, July 24 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fain Cemetery.
