Judy Carol Coggins, age 66, of Resaca, passed away Sunday morning February 24th in Gordon Hospital. Judy was born July 3, 1946 in Gordon County, daughter of the late Spurgeon Putnam and Rachel Davis Putnam, she was a member of the Agape Baptist Church and although she had worked as a nurse for many of the area hospitals and nursing homes she was best known for her time at Gordon Hospital. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Roy Putnam. Survivors include her husband, Morgan Coggins of Resaca, three sons; Michael Crider of Calhoun, Brian Crider and his wife Vanessa of Ranger, and Dale Coggins and his wife Marilyn of Resaca, one brother; Wayne Putnam and his wife Deborah of Perry, Florida, six grandchildren; Brandon Coggins, Christopher Coggins, Jason Crider, Kristopher Crider, Courtney Johnson, and Savannah Crider, two great-grandchildren; Ansley Crider and Ella Coggins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 27th at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Kinman and Rev. Norris Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Jason Crider, Christopher Coggins, Brandon Coggins, Lowell Coggins, Jether Coggins, and Kristopher Crider. Nephews as well as former co-workers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 5pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
