Judy Choate, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 in Floyd Medical Center.
Judy was born on October 12, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. She was the daughter of the late James Patton and Sara White Patton. She was a member of the Oostanaula Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Bellsouth, with 40 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Black; and two sister-in-laws, Glenda Sutton and Linda Choate.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Choate and his wife Serephia of Chatsworth, and Jonathan Choate and his wife Megan of Adairsville; two brothers, Frank Patton and his wife Susan of Lake Hartwell, and Edward Patton and his wife Julie of Covington; one sister, Susan Gaddis and her husband Junior of Conyers; three brother-in-laws, Ernie Choate, Jessie Choate and his wife Vickie, and Jim Sutton; two sister-in-laws, Judy Mitchell and her husband Billy, and Wanda Howard and her husband Steve; two grandchildren, Julian Choate and his wife Jennifer, and Andrew Lockhart; and one great-grandson, Barrett Choate.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, August 21st at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Minister Kevin Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oostanaula Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include Julian Choate, Andrew Lockhart, Cass Gaddis, Anthony Gaddis, Josh Brown, Seth Brown, Chris Black, Billy Black, Kevin Choate, and Jason Choate.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 – 8pm at the funeral home.
