Mr. Jud Tom Watson Clayton, age 85 of 2481 Red Bud Rd, Calhoun, Ga. died Monday morning in Calhoun Health care following a brief illness.
Mr. Clayton was born in Cherokee, Co, Ga. on October 8, 1922 son of the late William Oscar and Beulah VanDora Fowler Clayton. He was of the Baptist faith and was a self employed aluminum and copper wire recycler. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Lois Clayton Pratt and Robbie Clayton House and three brothers; Dennis, Lawrence and Paul Clayton and his first wife Willie Jo Clayton. He was a loving brother, a hard working husband and was loved by all.
Survivor include his wife Margie W. Clayton of Varnell, two step-sons; Chuck and David Woodard, and two step-daughters; Debbie McCullough and Pamela Triplette, one brother; John C. Clayton and two sisters; Doris Clayton Parker and Beatrice Brown. Several grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday January 15th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 in The Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P. M. today.
