Joyce Irene Shaw

Joyce Irene Shaw, age 76 of Calhoun, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her residence. Joyce was born on December 16, 1939 in Augusta, GA to the late Alfred Lee Hambrick and Florice Ellen Hambrick. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Alan Arrington; husband, Charlie L. “Pop” Shaw; three brothers, Bubba Hambrick, Chuck Hambrick and Jimmy Hambrick; and two daughters, Shirley Shephard and Evelyn Hambrick. She is survived by her five daughters, Crickett Rayburn and her husband Barry of Adairsville, Jane Shaw, Debbie Brown, April Dixon and Tonya Burns all of Calhoun; four brothers, Bill Hambrick of Augusta, Bobby Hambrick of Augusta, Jerry Hambrick of Texas and Gary Hambrick of Augusta; two sisters, Doris Thompson and Jean McCoy; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 26th at 11 AM at Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7 PM until 9 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
