Joyce Alise Scott, age 92, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday morning December 7th in Gordon Health Care.
Joyce was born December 25, 1931, in Adairsville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Tate Sutton and Louise Pierson Sutton. Known as the Candy Corn Queen, Joyce enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Scott, as well as eleven brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: her children, Rhodna Holbrook and her husband Mitchell, Jeffrey Scott and his wife Julie, Angela Hall and her husband Ron; four grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Tuesday, December 10th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Brother Kent Bailey, Brother Ron Hall, and Brother Eddie Jones. Burial follows in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the eight oldest great-grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the younger great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 9 am at the funeral home.
