Joyce Cornelison Stanfield, age 72 of Fairmount, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at her residence.
Joyce was born on May 5, 1941 in Floyd County to the late Oscar Cornelison and Ruby Fulmer Cornelison. She was a member of the Echota Baptist Church and attended the Resaca Assembly of God, and was formerly employed by Mohawk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Authur Stanfield; brother, Billy Cornelison; sister, Helen Davis; and brother-in-law, Clyde Stanfield.
She is survived by three sons, Tim Stanfield and his wife Sabrena, John Stanfield and his wife Lori, and Mark Stanfield and his wife Kim all of Calhoun; daughter, Kim Gravitt and her husband Tony of Plainville; brother-in-law, Ricky Stanfield of Cartersville; sisters-in-law, Brenda Holliman and her husband Harold of Cartersville, and Carolyn Loudermilk and her husband Billy of Adairsville; five grandchildren, Jason Woodward and his wife Patricia, Josh Stanfield and his wife Jessica, Ryan Stanfield, Shelby Stanfield, and Zack Gravitt; six great-grandchildren, Skyler and Briar Woodward, Stryder and Wyatt Stanfield, and Hayden and Jacob Gravitt; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, March 27th at 12:00 noon from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Timms and Reverend David Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Jason Woodward, Zack Gravitt, Josh Stanfield, Terry Davis, Chris Watson, and Scott Stanfield. Richie Parker will have charge of music.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of the Stanfield Paving Company.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
