Joyce Ann Smith Cook

Joyce Ann Cook, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away on Sunday, August 20th at AdventHealth Gordon.

Joyce was born on November 22, 1941 in Oakman, Georgia to the late King Smith and Mary "Punk" Thomason Smith. She dedicated herself to a successful career in Real Estate, where she represented Coldwell Bankers for many years. Joyce had a zest for life and found joy in various activities such as fishing, spending time outdoors, bowling, and engaging in sports. She possessed an undeniable competitive spirit and cherished the thrill of playing cards, always aiming for victory. Joyce was a devoted member of Calhoun Community Church.

Joyce is preceded in death by several beloved siblings including Edress Nelson, Kinzel Smith, Kellon Smith, Peggy Smith, and Kathy Burchett.

She is survived by her loving husband Hershel Cook, daughter Denna Pratt, stepsons Dean Cook and Dale Cook, as well as several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 25th at Calhoun Community Church at 1PM. Reverends Jerry Rice and Lance Johnson will officiate the service. Following the ceremony, Joyce will be laid to rest at Chandler Cemetery, with Walter Taylor officiating.

The family will welcome friends for visitation at the church from 11AM to 1PM.
