Willie Paul "Joy" Smith McGuinness

Willie Paul (“Joy”) Smith McGuinness, age 82 of Chesapeake, Virginia and formerly of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022.

Joy was born on January 1,1940 in Gordon County, GA, daughter of the late Hugh Smith and Nellie McDougle Smith. She was a veteran of the United States Navy, Merchant Marine, serving over 20 years. Also, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, Ralph Smith, Rosa Smith Creed, Sarah Joyce Smith Hnat, Vada Lois Smith Conaway, Betty Ruth Smith Carver, Bernice Smith Fuller, Alene Smith Moore, and Virginia Smith Keller.

Joy is survived by: one brother, Robert Smith; sister, Georgie Smith Meadows; and five grandchildren, Derrick Cochran, Keith Cochran, Angie Hall, Harley Reece, and Jennifer Reece, and several nieces and nephews.
