Friday, February 04, 2011 Johnny Lee Fowler, age 60, of Calhoun. Died Wednesday evening February 2nd in Gordon Hospital. Johnny was born July 18, 1950 in Gordon County. Son of the late E.L. and Josephine Garland Fowler. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. Johnny was a member of the East Calhoun Church of God and was a truck driver for more than 30 years prior to his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Hilda Fowler. Three sons; Chris Nesbitt and his wife Angie, Kelly Nesbitt and his wife Mary, and Grant Nesbitt and his wife Julie. Three daughters; Angel Kirby and her husband Tony, Tania Evans and her husband Jason, and Crystal (Shelly) Long all of Calhoun. One brother, Tommy Fowler of Plainville. Three sisters; Sharon Johnson and her husband Michael of Adairsville, Sherrie Kennedy and her husband Lewis of Calhoun, and Brenda Stockman of Rome. Nine grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday February 6th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Pastor Keith Reid, Pastor Jeff Dutton, and Apostle Curtis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery will Full Military Rites. Pallbearers serving include; Ritchie Holland, Richard Fowler, Vince Gulledge, Tommy Wilkey, Randy Erwin, Jason Reeves, Greg Culberson, and Jeff Barton. Honorary pallbearers escorts will include; Carl Anderson, Charles Odom, Neal Russell, and Earl Holland. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4 until 8pm.
