Johnnie Kate

Johnnie Kate Fox, age 83 of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, May 20th in Floyd Medical Center. Johnnie was born on July 22, 1929 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of the late Frank R. Edens and Palace Calbeck Edens. Johnnie formerly attended the Echota Baptist Church and College Street Church of God. She was a graduate of the Rhinehart College and The University of Georgia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Jesse Lee Fox; and one daughter, Angela Yvonne Fox. Survivors include: her son, Thomas Fox and his wife Joi of Franklin, TN; daughter, Carol Hobgood of Rome; brother, Joe Edens of Sugar Valley; two sisters, Sara Patrick of Jacksonville, FL and Mary Ruth Edens of Gordon County; five grandchildren, Heath Hobgood, Rachael Fox, Jesse Fox, Benjamin Fox and Rebekah Fox. Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 23rd at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Steven Cochran officiating. Pete Cochran will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 22nd from 3:00 – 6:00pm at Thomas Funeral Home.
