John Millard Surber

Monday, February 15, 2010 Mr .John Millard Surber, age 77 of 400 Walraven Rd. N.E., Calhoun died unexpectedly Sunday February 14th. 2010. John was born in Cawood Kentucky on August 28, 1932 son of the late Albert and Sally Pace Surber. He had been a resident of Calhoun since 1970, was retired from the Gallion Mfg. Co and was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Air Force. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Stella Smith Surber in 2005, a brother; Clark Surber, two sisters; Wanda Lockaby and Jeanette Gailey. Survivors include two sons; John Surber Jr of Subligna, Ga, and Martin Surber of Calhoun, three daughters; Vickie McAllister and her husband Ken of Jasper, Ga., Sandra Henry and her husband Gene of Calhoun and Darlene Gonzalez of Calhoun. Graveside and interment services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday from the Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens with Rev. Norris Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until 1`:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the services. Gary Reagan will have charge of the music.
