John Anthony Scott

John Anthony Scott, Sr., age 68 of Fairmount, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Gordon Hospital. John was born on November 10, 1945 in Binghamton, New York. He was the son of the late John Joseph Scott, Sr. and Cerita Credo Scott. John has been a resident of Gordon County for 12 years and attended the St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church. He served in the Louisiana National Guard Army and is the owner of Cedar Valley Farms. John enjoyed training and riding horses, and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was everyone’s best friend, and helped his neighbors and strangers with random acts of kindness. He is survived by his fiancé, Katharine Sinnock of Fairmount; son, John J. Scott, II and his wife Jennifer of Roswell, GA; daughter, Vicki A. Licciardi and her husband Jimmy of Metairie, LA; six grandchildren, James Licciardi, IV, Jake Licciardi, Laura Beth Scott, Blake Scott, Amanda Borne and Emily Borne; his fiancé’s son, Jarrod Cordell Sinnock; brother-in-law, Lee Carroll Messick of Jodeco, GA; two sisters, Sharon Meunier and Kathleen Scott; and three sister-in-laws, Kristine Rainey of Hartsville, SC, Kimberly Messick of Griffin, GA, and Keitha Gregory of Waxahachie, TX; mother-in-law, Camille Christopher of Griffin, GA. Memorial Services will be conducted on Sunday, October 5th at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Father Louis Tonsmeier officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the Memorial Service. Family and friends are welcome at John and Kathi’s home after his Memorial Service on Sunday.
