John L. Robertson

Monday, July 24, 2006 Mr. John Lee Robertson, age 87, of 1379 Spring Place-Resaca Rd., Resaca, Ga. died Sunday July 23rd. in the Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. John was born in Murray County, Ga. on Nov. 26, 1918 son of the late William (Bill) and Ida Franklin Robertson . He was a well known farmer and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church near Resaca. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Nollie Jo Blankenship Robertson in 1979, one Brother; J.W. Robertson and a Half- brother; Nathan Robertson. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; Sue and Alden Haygood of Resaca, two grandchildren; Sheryl Denise Haygood of Resaca and Cleatus Waddell and his wife Michele of Resaca. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday July 26th. , 2006 from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Resaca. Pallbearers serving are special CB radio friends and include; Terry Bramstedt, Roy Morgan, Robert Green, Gordon Tatum, Mike Fowler and Keith Chastain and they are asked to meet at the Thomas Funeral Home at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday July 25th. Diane Sisson will have charge of the music.
