John M. "Buzzy" McMillan

John M. “Buzzy” McMillan, Jr. age 83 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at The Fountains in Calhoun.

Buzzy was born on March 27, 1939 in Washington, D.C., son of the late John Malcolm McMillan, Sr. and Margaret Alexander Lane McMillan. In addition to his parents Buzzy was also preceded in death by: his first wife, Barbara Ann Tingle McMillan; and second wife, Joyce Annette Hazlip McMillan. Prior to retirement Buzzy worked as an educator and coach for Calhoun High School and later went to work as a banker for many banks in Calhoun until retiring from Synovus Bank. He was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.

Buzzy is survived by: his son, John Mark “Mac” McMillan and his wife Millicent of Asheville, NC; daughter, Margaret Ann “Andie” DiCicco and her husband David of Macomb, MI; five grandchildren, Erin DiCicco Nuccio and her husband Antonio, Alex DiCicco, Drew McMillan, Nic McMillan and Brody McMillan; step-grandchildren, Gillian Ray and Derek Ray; and a half-sister, Jane Hammond of Ohio.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 2 PM from the Calhoun First Baptist Church with Dr. John Barber and Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Donnie Nesbitt will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving include: Alex DiCicco, David DiCicco, Antonio Nuccio, Nic McMillan and Brody McMillan.

In addition to flowers donations in memory of Buzzy may be made to the Calhoun First Baptist Church Building Fund.
