John Wilburn Hancock

Monday, December 11, 2006 View Video Tribute Mr. John Wilburn Hancock, age 65, of 2470 Pittman Rd., the Ranger Community, died Sunday December 10th. at the residence of a daughter following several months of declining health. John was born in Bartow County on Feb. 9, 1941 son of the late Frank and Fannie Young Hancock and had spent the last 5 years of his life in Ranger, Ga. He was retired from Mannington Industries and in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Howard Hancock. Survivors include three daughters; Theresa Lavalle and her husband Eddie, Tina Blalock and her husband Gary and Tonya Wooten and her husband Jody all of Calhoun, one brother; Edward Hancock of Calhoun and one sister; Lois Jones of Fairmount. Nine grandchildren; Dustin & Kerston Lavalle, McKenzie, Malone and Brody Blalock, Taylor, Ashley, Cole and Addison Wooten. There will be no formal services but the family will receive friends at Thomas Funeral Home from 5:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday December 12, 2006. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. John Wilburn Hancock.
