Thursday, February 21, 2008 Mr.John Bradley “J.B.” Garlin age 73 of the Plainville, Community, died Thursday Morning at his residence following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on Aug. 13, 1934 son of the late France and Pearl Ivey Garlin and had been a lifetime resident. He was retired as an industrial supply salesman having worked for Jay Supply. J.B. was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville and the Plainville Masonic Lodge #364 and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his wife Jeanine McEntyre Garlin in March of 2006, a son; Kirk Bradley Garlin on Nov. 11, 1992, a brother; Daniel Garlin (a WWII Casualty), and a sister; Frances Garlin Bowman. Survivors include his grandchildren, Amanda Sloan and her husband Ryan of Marion, Ill, and Kevin Garlin of Marion, Ill, Nieces and Nephews; Richard McEntyre of Rome and Kimberly Rogers of Calhoun, Special friends; Wyman Autry, Jerome Webb and Rickie Holton all of Plainville, a sister-in-law; Barbara McEntyre and her husband Baron of Calhoun, and brother-in-law: Sharon McEntyre of Plainville. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M.Saturday Feb. 23rd. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville with Rev. Richard Webster and Rev. Tracy Hardy officiating. Interment will follow in the Scott Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites. Pallbearers include Rickie Holton, Ronnie Cagle, Roger Wilson, Rodney Freeman, Danny Carroll and Darren Braden and these gentlemen are asked to meet at the Fellowship Baptist Church at 1:50 P.M. on Saturday at which time the body will be placed in the Church to lie instate from 2:oo until the funeral hour. Masons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Thomas Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday evening.
