Joe Walker

Joe Walker, age 77, of the Boone Ford Road Community, died at 12:53 pm Saturday, January 30th at his home. Joe was born in Gordon County, September 20, 1938, son of the late Otis G. Walker and Annie Bell Watkins Walker. He was a lifelong resident of Gordon County and was formerly employed by the local Pliant Plant. Joe was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. Joe is survived by his wife the former Grace Chadwick Walker who was the daughter of Carl and Gertrude Chadwick of Calhoun. One daughter, Hollie Potts and her husband Michael of Roswell; two grandchildren, Olivia and Ashlyn Potts both of Roswell. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday February 2nd at the Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim McCulley officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Stacy Hughey, Matthew Hughey, Justin Hughey, Dave Pass, Adam Chadwick, Kevin Parker, and Joseph Chadwick. The Deacons of Philadelphia Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. These men are ask to meet at the church at 11:45am Tuesday. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. Joe will be taken to the church to lie in state from 12 noon until the funeral home on Tuesday.
