Joe Henry Callaway

Saturday, December 26, 2009 Mr. Joe Henry Callaway, age 70 of Calhoun, died Thursday December 24th. in Chatsworth Health Care Center following several months of declining health. Joe was born in Gordon County on March 19, 1939 son of the late Bartow A. and Sudie Mae Jones Callaway and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Nellie Peters United Methodist Church and was retired from the textile industry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a half-brother; Norman Lyons and a half-sister; Deborah Joyce. Survivors include his wife Marilyn Callaway, two sons; David and Neal Callaway both of Calhoun, two daughters; Darleen Breeden of Chatsworth, Ga. and Sharlene Grayson of Rocky Face, Ga. , three brothers; Johnny of Ranger , P.R. and Lohnny both of Dalton, two sisters; Cora Serritt of Resaca and Nora Serritt Eden of Sugar, Valley, Ga. and one granddaughter; Tori Breeden. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday December 28th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Gobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving include Carl and Marshall Callaway, Bradley Partion, Troy Breeden, Austin Fain and Rickey Callaway and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:45 P.M. Monday. Honorary pallbeaers will be Jimmy Payne, Tim and Steve Ferguson, Randall Gibson, and Buddy and James Herndon and they are asked to meet at the funeral home at 2:45 P.M. Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday evening.
