Tuesday, August 15, 2006 Ms. JoAnn Whittemore Martin age 67 of 317 Harkins St. Calhoun, died Monday August 14th. in Hamilton Medical Center. JoAnn was born in Hamilton County Tennessee on September 10, 1938 daughter of the late Lawrence S. and Ollie Tatum Whittemore. She spent the earlier part of her life here and had again lived in Calhoun for the past 14 years. She was an Investment Broker’s Assistant with Merrell Lynch Investment Brokers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Ray and Robert Whittemore and a sister; Mary Kathryn Poarch. Survivors include one son John Martin of Calhoun, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Rawlan and Sis Whittemore of Calhoun and Lawrence and Mary Whittemore of Adairsville. Three sisters; Sadie Price and her husband Kenneth of Victoria, Texas, Janette Ruddell and her husband Phil of Calhoun and Frances Whittemore also of Calhoun. Ms. Martin will be cremated and Thomas Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday August 26th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Bunkley Officiating. The family will have visitation immediately following the services.
