Jimmy "PaPa" Martin

Wednesday, July 08, 2009 Jimmy “PaPa Jim” Martin, age 61, of Fairmount. Died Wednesday morning July 8th in Heartland Hospice of Cartersville. PaPa Jim was born in Gwinnett County June 29, 1948. Son of the late Bond D. and Vera Bedingfield Martin. He was a member of the First Apostolic Ministries of Calhoun and was a self-employed welder who loved his family and spending time riding his motorcycle with friends. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Lynn Martin of Fairmount. Five sons, Shane Martin of Cartersville, Jimmy Martin, Jr., of Calhoun, Dwayne Martin, Jerry Martin, Micheal Martin all of Winder. Two daughters, Tina Martin and Melissa Martin both of Fairmount. One brother, David Foust. Three sisters, Linda Brown of Dacula, Gloria Timbs of Locust Grove, and Barbara Kelley of Conyers. Seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday July 10th at 2pm at the First Apostolic Ministries of Calhoun. With Pastor Ricky Silvers and Brother Floyd Tenney officiating. Burial will follow in the White Cemetery at Villanow. Pallbearers serving include; Shane Martin, Dwayne Martin, Jerry Martin, Jimmy Martin, Jr., Eddie and Eric Crow. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Bettis and Jerry Timbs. The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 3 until 9pm at the funeral home.
