Jimmy Galloway

Jimmy Galloway, age 76 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Advent Health Gordon.

Jimmy was born in Gordon County, GA, son of the late William “Dink” Galloway and Margaret Greeson. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister, Margie Pendley; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward Darnell, Polly and Hughdon Davis, Christine and Floyd Balliew, Arthur and Patsy Owens, Ernest Owens, James Owens and Charles T. Owens. He was a graduate of Calhoun High School Class 1965. Jimmy served as a Sargent in the United States Marine Corps . He was also the owner and operator of Galloway’s Body Shop for more than 25 years. Jimmy loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and especially working in his garden. He was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church.

Jimmy is survived by: his wife of 56 years Lynda Owens Galloway; one son, Brennon Galloway; one daughter, Sonya Borgers and her husband Brian; one granddaughter, Hope Davis and her husband Parker; and six sisters, Anne Galloway, Joyce Clark and her husband Jerry, Nancy Dobson and her husband Danny, Patsy Nix and her husband Marvin, Louise Wright and her husband Terry, and Susie Bennett; and he is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dimple Darnell, Dolly McEntyre, Kenneth Owens and his wife Debbie, Betty Owens, Evelyn Owens and Geneva Owens.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Shane Parrott officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery with Reverend Dudley Meadows officiating.

Pallbearers serving include, Brennon Galloway, Heath Bennett, Mitchell Owens, Steven Clark, Edward Owens, and Chad Owens.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
