Mr. Jimmie L. Coffey, age 76 of Calhoun died Sunday, April 6, 2008 evening at his residence following an extended illness.
Jim was born, May 25, 1931 in Dardenelle, Arkansas, son of the late Grady G. Coffey and Laura Wiesinger Coffey. During his lifetime he was employed for several years as Maintenance Manager for Colormaster of Calhoun. He was veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Jim had made his home in Calhoun for 20 years and had attended the Adairsville Baptist Church. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Crawford. Four grandchildren, Ashley Harmon, Michele, Nicole, and Jake Coffey.
Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jane Corbitt Coffey of Calhoun; four sons, John Coffey of Delaware , Timothy R.Coffey, Kenneth Coffey, and Ricky J. Coffey all of California ; four daughters, Dawn Trilles and her husband Ervin of California, Ramona McClintick of Adairsville, Leslie DePerro of Calhoun, and Catherine Coffey of California ; two brothers, Robert Coffey and his wife Joey of Colorado and Harold Coffey of Nebraska ; nine grandsons, Johnny, Nick, Tristin and Brandon Coffey, Alec and Tanner Trilles, Joey Harmon, Jordon McClintick, and David DePerro; eight granddaughters, Mandy, Shannon, Crystal, Felicity and Brooke Coffey, Mylessa Trilles, Lauren and Katie DePerro. Two great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday April 10th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home. With Rev. Michael Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Military Honors by the Dalton American Legion. Pallbearers serving include, John, Timothy, Kenny, and Jimmie Lee Coffey, Joey Harmon and Thornton Adams.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 until 9 pm.
