Jimmie Lou Avedisian

Jimmie Lou Avedisian, age 72, of Calhoun, passed away Friday March 13th at her residence. Jimmie Lou was born in Smyrna, Georgia December 31, 1942, daughter of the late Alvin Wright and Jimmie Nell Dean Wright. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and a member of the WM Association. Jimmie Lou was a member of the Hall Memorial Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, William Curtis Ewing and her brothers, Ronald Wright and Roger Wright. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Ret. SGM Arthur Avedisian of Calhoun, two daughter; Laura-Lee Strong and her husband Terry of Washington and Virginia Verbeke Parris and her husband Charles Robert of Calhoun, four brothers; Anthony Wright of Rome, Charles B Wright of McDonough, Zander Scotty Wright of Acworth, and Dennis Wright of Power Springs, one sister; Sarah Jane Wilkins of Acworth, one granddaughter; Nicole Ann White, four great-grandchildren; Ahyran Mathew Meissner, Brijett Meissner, Kohan Meissner and Breydin White. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday March 18th at 11am from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Commander Donnie Hudgens officiating. Full Military Honors will be afforded by the United States Marine Corp and the Dalton American Legion Post #112. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11am Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
