November 26, 2010
On November 24, 2010, at 3:36 PM, our darling Jill Rutledge went home to be with our Lord Jesus at such a youthful age of 48 years. This is truly a heartbreak for so many that love her. She was born in Orlando, Florida to a loving mother, sister and brother who cherished her with all their hearts. After sharing years of her life and love with them, she arrived in Calhoun and Resaca in 1998 to marry the love of her life, Todd Rutledge. Her new life also blessed her with her new parents as well, Donald and Jean Rutledge who loved their new daughter instantly. Jill and Todd lived in a home that has been in the Rutledge family for seventy years. She felt the love and memories of the past in this sacred place. She had an incredible sensitivity of everyone's heart to continue the spirit in this home. After a while of living here she began working at Max's Beauty Bar and her life really began to fill with joy. She cherished every moment with this girl's club and everyone who came through the door. This was something she had never known before and she finally felt she was truly where she belonged. God is good.
Now, anyone who knew Jill also knew of her ultimate love for children. You see, Jill was meant to be a mother above all else. However, the Lord chose not to let her have them in this life. This did not keep her from spoiling and loving everyone else's child. This is where her spirit truly moved. In the Rutledge home every ornament and picture is a testament of her faith and love for the Lord Jesus Christ and the family of friends she so lovingly served. This was a life fulfilled for Jaynell Rae Rutledge: "Love your friends; Love your family".
Jill is survived by her husband, Todd Rutledge of Resaca; mother Jane Davis; one brother Robert Davis; one sister, Karen Sue Davis; nieces, Andrea Artman and Jennifer Davis, great niece, Kelly Grace Artman, and a great nephew, Ryan Jacob Artman all of Orlando; father and mother in law, Donald and Jean Rutledge, sister in law, Rhonda Couch and her husband Johnny; nieces Kayla Couch , Lisa Callaway and her husband Gordon all of Resaca. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon, Tuesday, November 30 at the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverends Harold Blackstock, Gary Hibberts, Jack Baker and Duane Cole officiating. Burial will be in Fain Cemetery, and the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are James Collins, Robert Davis, Leonard Gibson, Johnny Couch, Eric Rutledge Marvin Beech, and Todd Rutledge. Honorary escort will be the staff of Max's Beauty Bar.
