Jewel Banks Wilson, age 88 of the Oakman Community died at 2:45 AM, Saturday, January 30 in the Chatsworth Nursing Home.
Jewel was born, December 21, 1927 in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late, William “Bill” Banks and Amony Anderson Banks. Also she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilson; and several brothers and sisters, Josh, Roosevelt, Jesse, Kimsey, Mark, Aurie and Clifford Banks, Ole Baldwin, Dimple Lowe, and Honor Callaway. She had spent most of her life in Gordon County and was a retired employee of Crown Crafts.
She was a member of the White Graves Baptist Church.
Jewel is survived by one brother, Henry Wilson of Murray County, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 1 at White Graves Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Will Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Bobby, Wayne, and M.B. Banks, R. L. Callaway, Marshall Callaway, and Buddy Lowe. They are asked to meet at White Graves Cemetery at 1:45 PM, Monday.
