Jewell Miller

Sunday, February 15, 2009 Mrs. Jewell Chastain Miller age 87 of Calhoun, died Saturday Feb. 14th. in the Erlanger Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Miller was born in Fulton County, Ga. on May 22, 1921 daughter of the late Homer Lester and Lois Hunt Chastain. She was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church and until retirement was Executive Secretary at Calhoun First National Bank. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Renis Barrett and her second husband Norman Miller Jr., a bother; H.L. Chastain and two nephews Chuck Shook and Brad Pendley. Survivors include two sisters; Betty Henderson and her husband Lamar of Dalton;, and Doris Pendley and her husband Mike of Warner Robbins, Ga. 8 nieces and nephews; Steve Pendley of Calhoun, Phyllis O’Connell of Boston, Mass, Jeff Pendley of Mobile, Al, Judy Murphy and Riochard Shook of Dalton, Leslie Bullard of Chattanooga, Tn and Jenny Smith of Alabama. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday Feb. 18th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn Officiating. The committal service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Thursday in the Fain Cemetery.
