Jesse E "Gene" Cochran

Mr. Jesse E. “Gene” Cochran, age 91 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday April 1, 2012 at Gordon Health Care Facility. Jesse was the son of the late Jess Cochran and Pearl “Ida” Balliew Cochran. Jesse was a self-employed farmer all of his life. He is preceded by six brothers; Rev. Max Cochran, Rev. Rembert Cochran, Ernest Cochran, Raymond Cochran, Leverle Cochran, and Kermit Cochran; one sister, Agnes Hampton. Survivors include one sister, Edith Erwin and her husband Ned of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, and cousin also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Jesse Cochran will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday April 2, 2012 from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Jether Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Scott Hood, Billy Guy,Brian Fox,Wayne Rakestraw,Billy Cochran, and Jether Cochran. Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Gordon Health Care. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday April 2, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
