Jerry E. Wofford

Jerry E. Wofford, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away on Thursday after an extended illness, July 26, 2012 in Evergreen Health & Rehab. Jerry was born on June 28, 1940 in Floyd County. He was the son of Harrison Wofford and Gertrude Barnette Wofford. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and was co-owner of K&W Auto Supply. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerome Wofford and brother, J.M. Wofford. Survivors include: his wife, Jeanette Callaway Wofford of Calhoun; One son, Jay Wofford of Calhoun; Four sisters: Shirley Hogan and her late husband Wendell of Calhoun. Glenda Timms and her husband David of Calhoun, Joan Gilbert and her late husband Clyde and Joyce Broyles and her late husband Marvin; one grandson, Bristol Wofford also survives. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am on Saturday, July 28th from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Gene Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers serving include: Marty Moorehead, Tony Moorehead, Brian Richmond, Brian Gilbert, Brett Timms and Chris Broyles. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8pm on Friday, July 27th at the funeral home.
