Jerry A. Stanfield, age 72, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday February 23rd in Redmond Regional Hospital.
Jerry was born August 9, 1940 in Gordon County, son of the late John Henry Stanfield and Eunice Shepherd Stanfield. He was President of Stanfield Paving Company and was a charter member of the College Street Church of God and had been attending the Resaca Assembly of God. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and besides his parents was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Stanfield.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Joyce Stanfield, three sons; Tim Stanfield and his wife Sabrena, John Stanfield and his wife Lori, and Mark Stanfield and his wife Kim all of Calhoun, one daughter; Kim Gravitt and her husband Tony of Plainville, two sisters; Brenda Holliman and her husband Harold of Cartersville and Carolyn Loudermilk and her husband Billy of Adairsville, one brother; Ricky Stanfield of Cartersville, five grandchildren; Jason Woodward and his wife Patricia, Josh Stanfield and his wife Jessica, Ryan Stanfield, Shelby Stanfield, and Zack Gravitt, six great-grandchildren; Skyler and Briar Woodward, Stryder and Wyatt Stanfield, and Hayden and Jacob Gravitt.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday February 26th at 4pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmie Timms and Rev. Terry Timms officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery with Rev. Maynard Thomas in charge of graveside rites. Music will be arranged by Donna Gay, Gail Brake, Wayne and Karen Fauber.
Pallbearers serving include Jason Woodward, Joshua Stanfield, Zachary Gravitt, Scott Stanfield, Terry Davis, Eric Allen, and Phillip Shephard. Honorary pallbearers will include Jay Taylor, Melvin Kimbrell, John Offutt, Dee Chapman, Jeff Black, Duck King, Jeff Mulkey, Zack Grizzle, Jerry Newport, John Martin, and Chris Watson.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 9pm.
