Jerry Douglas Lambert, fondly known as Butch, passed away on August 25, 2023, at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Born on October 9, 1942, in Gilmer County, he touched the hearts of those around him with his kind and welcoming nature. Jerry lived a fulfilling life as a dedicated Land Surveyor for Freeman & Lambert Surveyors and as a loving family man.

Jerry's career as a Land Surveyor spanned several decades, during which he showcased his exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence. He approached every project with diligence and precision, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike. His expertise in surveying made him an invaluable asset to Freeman & Lambert Surveyors.

Although Jerry had a successful career, he always prioritized his family above all else. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones and created countless beautiful memories that will be treasured forever. Jerry's devotion to family was unparalleled, and his presence brought warmth and joy to any gathering. His unwavering love will remain etched in the hearts of his wife Janie E. Neal Lambert, his son Waylon Rick Lambert, his daughter Jessica Corrine Lambert Smith, and their families.

Jerry had a natural talent for making others feel at ease in his presence. His genuine kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew him. Whether it was through a friendly smile or a listening ear, Jerry had an innate ability to brighten someone's day. His heartfelt compassion provided solace to those who needed it most.

Aside from his professional achievements and loving nature, Jerry had many proud accomplishments throughout his life. He was a devoted member of Fairmount First Baptist Church, where he found strength and spiritual guidance. In addition to this, Jerry was a lifetime member of V.F.W Post 406, American Legion Post 305, and the Calhoun Elks Lodge BPOE 1883. His commitment to these organizations demonstrated his unwavering dedication to serving his community.

Jerry's passing leaves a void in the lives of his surviving family members and friends. He is survived by his wife Janie, who stood by his side through thick and thin, providing unwavering love and support. He is also survived by his children, Waylon Rick Lambert and Jessica Corrine Lambert Smith, along with their families. His grandchildren, Charlotte Bell Smith and Carter Quinton Smith, were a constant source of joy and pride for Jerry.

Jerry leaves behind a cherished legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him. His kind spirit, exemplary work ethic, and devotion to his loved ones serve as a reminder of the values he held dear. Though Jerry may no longer be physically present, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.

A Funeral Service will be held on August 27, 2023, at Thomas Funeral Home in Calhoun. The service will commence at 2:00 PM and conclude at 3:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather together to celebrate Jerry's life and bid him a heartfelt farewell.
