Jerry Aldon Dodd

Jerry Aldon Dodd, age 72 of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in the Kindred Specialty Hospital of Rome. Jerry was born on July 1, 1939 in Gordon County. Son of the late Richard and Dorothy Poarch Dodd. He was a retired truck driver. Survivors include; his wife, Annette Curtis Dodd. One son, Mitchell Dodd and his wife Stacie of Calhoun. Two brothers; Roy Dodd and his wife Angela of Armuchee and Larry Dodd and his wife Kathy of Calhoun. Two grandchildren; Malana Kerce and her husband Eric and LaChance Dodd and his girlfriend Kim Franklin. Three great-grandchildren Brantley, Jasmine and Ashley Kerce. Annette's children Nancy Hall, Bobby, Richard and Chris Holman also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00a.m. on Friday, October 14th from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Jamey Hunt and Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include; Randall Fuquea, Larry Poarch, Lamar Roberts, Ken Brimmer, Landon Hall and Jared Holman. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 9:00p.m. on Thursday, October 13th at Thomas Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Echota Vann Shrine Club @ 535 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, Ga. 30701 or the American Heart Society.
