Jason Bennett

Jason Dallas Bennett, age 38, of Calhoun passed away Thursday morning September 15th at his residence. Jason was born September 12, 1973 in Gordon County. Son of Linda Bennett Ray and the late Robert Bennett. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of the Moss Memorial Baptist Church but had attended East Gate Baptist Church. He is survived by his mother, Linda Bennett Ray and her husband Wendell. Aunts, Jean McClure and Sue Amos. A uncle, Robert Steve Young all of Calhoun. One step-brother, Allen Ray of Calhoun. One Step-sister, Mary Walker and her husband Ricky Hughes of Blairsville. His grandparents, Charles Ray, Ruth and Verlon Young, and Alma Moore Bennett.Several nieces, nephews as well as other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be conducted 2pm Monday September 19th at New Town Baptist Church. With Rev. Walter Haire and Rev. Greg Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackwood Springs Baptist Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Gary Amos and Jerry Satterfield. Pallbearers serving include, Rick Hughes, Ryan Amos, Jerry Jackson, Terrell Anderson, Eddie Watkins, and Daryl Sutherland. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 2 until 8pm.
