Jarrett Andrew Hopper

Monday, June 08, 2009 Mr. Jarrett A. Hopper age 52 of the Ranger community died Monday June 8th. at the Gordon Hosptial following a sudden illness suffered at his residence. Jarrett was born in Gordon County on June 28, 1956 son of the late Jarrett Wash Hopper and Elizabeth Betty Middleton Hopper. He had been a lifelong resident of Gordon County , was a farmer and mechanic and had formerly been employed by the Gordon County Sheriff Department for 6 years, the Pickens County EMS and was formerly a volunteer Fireman. Survivors include his wife Winnie Childers Hopper of Ranger, his mother-in-law; Estelle Childers of Jasper, two sons Chris Pittman and his wife Melissa and Brock Pittman all of Ranger, five daughters; Kim Saldivar and her husband Ernesto of Cohutta, Misty Munda and her husband Donnie of Dawsonville, Ga., Kelly Hopper of Ranger Amy Hopper of Dalton, and Nikki Hopper of Ranger, three sisters; Sandra Cook and her husband George of Ranger, Sharon Hopper of Calhoun and Teresa Coggins and her husband Grover of Ranger. 10 grandchildren 1 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday June 10th. from the Chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. James Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopper Cemetery near Ranger. The family will receive friends the Thomas Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening. Grandsons and Nephews will serve as pallbearers and Employees of the Gordon County Sheriff Department will serve as honorary pallbearers as well as serving as Honor Guard.
