Janie Floyd Garland

Janie Floyd Garland, age 92 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.

Janie was born on June 8, 1929 in Sugar Valley, GA, daughter of the late Elliot Othaniel Floyd and Bertha Davis Floyd. In addition to her parents, Janie was also preceded in death by: her husband, Jerry William Garland; and brother, Jimmy Floyd. Janie was a member of Old Sugar Valley Methodist Church. She enjoyed making dolls, painting, and gardening.

Janie is survived by: three sons, Gary Garland and his wife Lynn, Jimmy Garland and his wife Vanessa, and Jeff Garland and his wife Laura; two daughters, Jerri Holloway and her husband Tim and Mary “Cookie” King and her husband Bruce; two sisters, Mary West and Barbara Russell; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Garland officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jimmy Garland officiating with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 from 12 PM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
