Jane Ponder Stanfield

Jane Ponder Stanfield, age 85 of Calhoun, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at Calhoun Health Care. Jane was born on June 29, 1933 in Gordon County to the late Ernest T. Ponder and Maude Andrews Ponder. In addition to her parents, Jane was also preceded in death by: her son, Tim Hurndon; and two brothers, John and Jack Ponder. Jane was a lifetime resident of the Oostanaula Community and was a member of Oostanaula Baptist Church. Jane is survived by: her sister, Marguerite Nesbitt; granddaughters, Brandi Dutton and her husband Anthony Dutton, April Barry, and Desirae Hurndon; grandson, Dakota Hurndon; four great-grandchildren, Camden and Logan Dutton, and Emma and Aria Barry; daughter in law, Lisa Hurndon Pruitt, and many special nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 7th at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Gandy officiating. Interment will follow in Oostanaula Baptist Church Cemetery with Terry Nesbitt, Doug Nesbitt, Kim Nesbitt, Jeff Nesbitt, Dick Nesbitt, and Dennis Nesbitt serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 PM until 6 PM at the funeral home.
