Jane Priscilla Cochran

Jane Priscilla Cochran, 87, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1937, in Clarkston, GA. She was the daughter of Joseph E. Goldsmith, Sr. and Carolyn Goldsmith. She was the younger sister of Joseph E. Goldsmith, Jr.

 She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Larry W. Cochran, sons Mark W. Cochran and Michael Cochran, daughters-in-law Diana Cochran and Helena Cochran-Jones, grandsons Joseph W. Cochran and Anthony M. Cochran, and step-grandson Ron Tedder.

 Upon graduating Clarkston High School, Jane enrolled at the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. After graduation, she worked in the surgical unit of the Georgia Baptist Hospital. She later worked as a private practice nurse and then at Dekalb General Hospital. After the birth of her two sons she left the nursing profession to devote herself to her family.

 During her life Jane was active at local churches, at her sons’ schools and at several charitable organizations. Most notably she was a volunteer at Advent Hospital in Calhoun, GA, for more than twenty years. At various times she served as the Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President of the hospital volunteers. Jane was a member of First Baptist Church of Calhoun, GA.

 Later in her life she became the primary caregiver for her brother, parents, and in-laws, George V. Cochran and Helen Cochran, prior to their passing. Jane gladly helped others in their time of need. She was a loving wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

 The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13th, 2025 from 1 PM until 2 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.

 Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, January 13th, 2025 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Dr. Bert Vaughn officiating. Jeanne McDade will have charge of music. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
