Jane Fowler Bowman

Mrs. Jane Lynn Fowler Bowman, 66 of Calhoun, Ga., passed away on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at Advent Health Gordon. 

 Mrs. Bowman was born in Gordon County on June 15th, 1958, to the late John Raymond Fowler and Inez Harris Fowler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Sgt. George Raymond Fowler; brothers-in-law, Larry Young and Joel Bowman; sister-in-law, Mary Long; mother and father-in-law, A.D and Beatrice Bowman. She was a 1976 graduate of Calhoun High School. Mrs. Bowman worked for many years at State Farm Insurance Company, Grover Lunsford Agency, as the Marketing Coordinator until her retirement. Mrs. Bowman held many titles, cherished wife, mother, grandmommy, sister, “the flower lady”, and “the birthday card lady” at her church. She loved her family unconditionally and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching her Sunday school class. During football season, you could find her cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and supporting her UGA graduates. She was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church. 

 Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Mr. Donald Bowman; two sons, Levi Bowman (Kimberly) and Jesse Bowman (Kayla); sister, Linda Young and her twin sister, Janet Shivers (Mike); four grandchildren, Lexi, Libby, Madilyn, and Mallory Bowman; niece and nephew, Sonya and Shane Young; several nieces and nephews. 

 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, at 3 PM at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Coker and Rev. Tim McCulley officiating. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Kayla Bowman. Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers include Jesse Bowman, Levi Bowman, Stacey Hughey, Mike Shivers, Kevin Parker, Kevin Thomas, Tim Walraven, Levi Walraven, and Jaden Hubbard. 

 The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1st from 12 PM until 3 PM at the church.
