James Michael Sweeney

James Michael Sweeney, age 66 of Adairsville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at his residence.

James was born on October 30, 1956 in Chicago, IL, son of the late James Sweeney and Shirley Hosking Sweeney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: his uncle and aunt, Adrian and Christine Fritzsche who raised him as their own son; and three siblings, Carol Hopkins, Dennis Fritzsche, and Kathleen Keating. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Cleveland Electric where he worked as a pipe fitter. James enjoyed watching Fox News, riding motorcycles, cooking on the grill, and hanging around having some beer with his friends. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them swim.

James is survived by: his children, Michael Helfers and his wife Crystal, Jeremiah Sprately, Crystal Kirby and her husband Brandon, Nikki Donnelly and her husband Rick Ward, and Aaron Donnelly and his wife Lynze; grandchildren, Alexis, William, Gracie, Haley, Gavin, Sophia, Jeremiah, Jr., Savannah, Brandon, Jr., Easton, Cason, Emmalyn, Cody, Bryson, Dayson, Carson, Keeliegh, Kayden, Harper, Everleigh, and Wyatt; and his siblings, Ken Fritzsche and his wife Suzanne, Catherine Doyle and her husband Joe, Joan Klaus and her husband Michael, Jeanne Johnson, Debbie Lydon and her husband Chris, Diane Lorenzen and her husband Rick, Tim Fritzsche and his wife Jan, and Kevin Fritzsche and his wife Julie; sister in law, Sally Fritzsche, and brother in law, James Keating.

A Celebration of the Life of James will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend John Paul officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 16, 2023 from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 12 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
