James Edward Rogers, age 69 of Ranger. Passed away Wednesday February 29th at his residence.
James was born August 19, 1942 in Pickens County. Son of the late Randolph Preston Rogers and Clara Mae Stone Rogers. He was a truck driver and was formerly employed by John McAfee Trucking. James was a member of the Miracle Temple Church and besides his parents was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brandi Nicole Rogers and a brother, Emory Rogers.
Survivors include his wife to whom he would have been married 52 years in September, Estelle Hendrix Rogers. Two sons, Randall Rogers and his wife Sonia and Ronnie Rogers and his wife, Kim all of Ranger. Five brothers, Everett Rogers of Ranger, Artrell Rogers of Sonoraville, Johnnie Rogers of Dalton, Eddie Rogers of Calhoun, and Billy Jo Rogers of Calhoun. Two sisters, Susan Parker of Ranger and Sara Bell Beavel of Arizona. Two grandchildren, Samantha Rogers and Hailey Rogers, one great granddaughter, Skyler Nicole Woodward also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 3rd at 2pm from Miracle Temple Church with Rev. Joe Tillman and Rev. Adrian Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Adrian, Reggie, Melissa, and Lisa will have charge of the music.
James will be taken to the church to lie in state from 5pm today until the funeral hour on Saturday.
