Mr. James R. Perry, age 77, of Stockbridge. Died Monday September 17th at 9:30 AM at his home.
Mr. Perry was born in Pickens County September 14, 1930. Son of the late Claude and Ophelia Clark Perry. James was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a heavy equipment operator who worked on many state an local projects including the Gordon Hospital. He was a life member of the American Legion Post #258 and the V.F.W. Post #6330 both in Jonesboro.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Mary Wilson Perry of Stockbridge. Two daughters, Teresa Robertson and her husband Ricky of Swainsboro and Kim Little and her husband Robert of Lawrenceville. One brother, Harold Perry of Fairmount. Four grandchildren, David , Pamela , Joshua, and Andrew. Two great-grandchildren, Austin and Emily Hutchinson. As well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday September 19th at 2 PM. From in Pleasant Grove/Ryo Baptist Church. With Chaplain Col. Herbert Kitchens, USA,Ret. Officiating with the Eulogy by Lamar Miller. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #112 of Dalton.
Pallbearers severing include, Jonathan Jones, Billy Jo Wilson, Brian Perry, Shawn and Tony Childrens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 until 9 P.M..
