James Thelbert Parks

James Thelbert Parks, age 87 of Adairsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at his residence. James was born on June 6, 1927 in Pulaski, TN to the late Thomas Parks and Irene Reynolds Parks. He was a Sergeant Major in the United States Army, serving in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, Jean Jackson Parks of Adairsville; two sons, David Parks of Adairsville, and Dennis Autry of Rome; four daughters, Sherry Vallee of Sugar Hill, GA, Judy Marth of Minnesota, Kimberly Fuller of Rome, and Lynn Laudeman of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Rosemary Bassett of Ashland, TN and Marie Pardon of Pulaski, TN; eight grandchildren, Audie Marth, Tyler Autry, Lexie Fuller, Luke Fuller, Annabelle Laudeman, Forest Laudeman, Chris Vallee and Coley McGhee; two great-grandsons, Evan Vallee and Luke Vallee. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, January 2nd at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral with the Reverend Ted Fuller officiating. Graveside Services will full military honors will be on Monday, January 5th at 11:00 AM at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
