James Leonard “Jimmy” Harmon, age 86 of Kingston, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 12, 2015 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy was born on December 9, 1928 in Bartow County to the late Walter Clarence Leonard Harmon and Kannie Mae Wilson Harmon. Jimmy was a member of the ATCO Baptist Church for over 10 years, and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sister, Bobbie Pope.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Norris Harmon of Kingston; son, Kenny Harmon and his wife Marie of Waleska; daughter, Judy Harmon Brown and her husband Barry of Young Harris; sister-in-law, Dixie N. Burton of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Joy and Ryan Hardy, Joe Harmon, Casey Brown, Justin Harmon and his fiancé Gisele Duarte and Beth and Jim McPherson; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, May 15th at 11:00 AM from ATCO Baptist Church in Cartersville with Pastor Michael Boatfield, Dr. Roop Caswell and Fred Harris officiating. Gary Harris, Anthony White and the ATCO Baptist Church choir will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery in Calhoun.
Pallbearers serving will be Joe Harmon, Casey Brown, Justin Harmon, Ryan Hardy, Jim McPherson and Darryl Franks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
