James A. Greeson, age 82 of the Union Grove Road Community, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his residence.
James was born on April 15, 1937 in Gordon County to the late Harlan Greeson and Emma Mullins Greeson. In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by: his wife, Joyce Charlotte Bunch Greeson; three brothers, Roy Greeson, Hubert Greeson, and Milton Greeson; three sisters, Lula Mae Bearden, Helen Mincey, and Mildred Mincey; and several nieces and nephews. James was a lifetime resident of Gordon County and was a member of Blackwood Springs Baptist Church. Prior to his retirement, James worked as a farmer.
James is survived by: his sister, Evelyn Stephens of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 20th at 3 PM from Blackwood Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Winford Casey and Reverend Paul Whitton officiating. Faye Prather, Lucilla Thompson, Linda Mashburn, and Jane Ellen Fite will have charge of music. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: David Craig, Terry Bunch, Caleb Chambers, Greg Massey, Adam Greeson, Mark Greeson, Lynn Greeson, and James M. Greeson.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening after 5:30 PM at Thomas Funeral Home.
