Mr. Jim Fowler, age 58, of Calhoun, passed away Friday November 22nd at Gordon Hospital.
Jim was born February 15, 1955 in Cook County, Illinois, son of the late Winfred and Beda Smith Fowler. He was a member of the Calhoun Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he volunteered at the churches food bank. Jim was employed for many years at Shepherds Restaurant and B.J.’S Restaurant.
Survivors include his son, Joseph Lamar Fowler of Calhoun, one daughter, Jamie Hutchens and her husband Thomas of Sugar Valley, four sisters, Beda Lynn Ryan of Calhoun, Donna Evans and her husband Allen of Talking Rock, Betty Jo Charvat of Calhoun, and Gail Mae Ellenburg of Cartersville. Five grandchildren, Catlin Townsend, Emily Starkey, Ashlyn Starkey, Jayleigh Fowler, and Little Joey Fowler.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday November 26th at 11am from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Rustad and Chaplin Dave Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Jim Hall.
Pallbearers serving include; Allen Evans, Ryan Evans, Bobby Serritt, Chris Hollingsworth, Richard Buechler and Andrew Timms.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 until 7pm at the funeral home.
