James Edison “Jimmy” Carter, age 63, of Ranger, passed away Thursday April 1st at his residence following a sudden attack.
Jimmy was born February 19, 1958 in Gordon County, son of the late Elkus Carter and Ruth Shaw Carter. Prior to his retirement he was a driver for Northwest Georgia Community Action and was a 1976 graduate of Calhoun High School. Jimmy loved his family and enjoyed camping and traveling.
He is survived by his wife; Kim Blevins Carter of Ranger, three daughters; Katherine Carter of Chattanooga, Maggie Rice of Acworth, and Mandy Young of Hoschton, Georgia., one sister; Teresa Carter Chastain of Calhoun. Three grandchildren; Tucker Young, Molly Young, and Matthew Thompson also survives.
Services to Celebrate the Life of Jimmy Carter will be conducted Saturday April 3rd at 1pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Nathan Young officiating.
