James Junior “J.J.” Craig, age 74, of Calhoun. Died Monday evening June 29th at Gordon Hospital.
J.J. was born in Bartow County, April 17, 1935. Son of the late Bascom Columbus and Annie Belle Gravley Craig. He was a member of The Miracle Temple and was employed for more than 25 years with Harbinson-Walker prior to his retirement. A son James “Sunny Boy” Craig precedes him in death.
Survivors include his wife Ginger Ann Fox Craig. Two sons; Adrian Craig and his wife Lisa all of Calhoun and Steve Craig of Rome. Three daughters; Laura Lane Sutton and her husband Pat of Calhoun, Julie Ann Bates and Judy Diane Tipps both of Boonesville, TN.. Two brothers; George Craig and Leroy Craig both of Adairsville. Sisters; RoseLee Prater, Mary Akins, and Caroline Smith. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday July 1st at 2pm at The Miracle Temple. With Rev. Joe Tillman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. One Step Forward will arrange music and pallbearers severing include grandsons and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening after 4pm and on Wednesday until the funeral hour.
