Mr. J.C. Blankenship of Gordon County died Sunday July 15th. In the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville. . J.C. was born in Gordon county on July 14, 1914 son of the late Grady and Louanna Shope Blankenship and had lived in Gordon County most of his life. He was a member of the Sonoraville Baptist Church, was a veteran of WWII and prior to retirement was a Route Salesman for American Bakeries. Also, he had worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife Katherine Sellers Blankenship of Gordon County, One son; Larry Blankenship of Lilburn, Ga. one daughter; Jane Klinger of Lawrenceville, Ga., one brother Lenvil Blankenship, two grandchildren; Susan Lockwood of Lilburn and Josh Klinger of Lawrenceville and one great-grandchild; Dylan Lockwood of Lilburn.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 17th. At the chapel of the Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Skates officiating. Interment will follow in the Sonoraville Cemetery.
Michael Johnson will have charge of the Music.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday preceding the funeral service.
